In our initial setup we started using Jira next-gen projects for accumulating customer requests.
As next-gen doesn't feature Components and doesn't have field configuration scheme, we lost the Category field.
Making custom Components (Component/s or Component) field didn't add Category.
Besides, it is not possible to make use of other fields as in next-gen there is no notion of Required or Optional fields and it's not coming soon.
